Echoing the utilitarian beauty of wall clocks found in factories from the fifties and sixties, this 302 Series watch from Uniform Wares is also a fully equipped sports watch. It was designed in 2012 by Patrick Bek and Oliver Fowles, the two young designer/entrepreneurs responsible for establishing the London-based company in 2009.
This watch features a state-of-the-art 23 jewelled Swiss-made movement and an extremely strong sapphire glass lens - which can only be scratched by a diamond. In keeping with Uniform Wares’ ethos it has a refined, understated appearance, simple and minimal, and it is equally at home worn with a suit in the office or sportswear at the gym.
Here are its main features -
- 316L stainless steel case
- 42 mm diameter; 11.25 mm thick
- Swiss-made ETA 251.471 23 jewel movement
- Scratch-resistant sapphire glass lens

The fine satin brushed case of this watch is PVD plated matt black to a depth of 2.5 microns. This process involves accelerating metal ions in a vacuum and bombarding the steel to colour and strengthen it. PVD stands for Physical Vapour Deposition and it ensures this watch will not corrode.
This is a premium quality watch that will give sterling service for many, many years. It would make a very special gift for a very special person.
