The Mass Light NA6 Chandelier was designed in 2012 by Norm in collaboration with Nordic design house &Tradition. It is constructed from 9 separate Mass Light NA5s (also available from Design55).
Each individual Mass Light was inspired by the street lamps of some of the world’s most iconic cities – Paris, Barcelona and New York.
Norm are Kaspar Ronn and Jonas Bjerre-Poulsen. Both were born in 1976 and graduated together from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts. Their street-lighting inspiration made it important to them that solid stone should be incorporated into their design. Hence the hat-like brown marble top of each separate Mass Light. The frosted opal glass bulb shades are also evocative of street lighting.
&Tradition believe in respecting the natural world. In their capable hands craft meets art; function meets form; and material meets potential. The rare and unusual use of marble in this high quality, ultra modern chandelier lends it an exceptional sense of quality and durability.
This is a bright chandelier and will illuminate a large area. The richness of its construction looks good with black leather and smoked glass, and it adds a serious dose of sophistication to any interior.
