Born in 1956, Lissoni graduated in 1978 from Milan Polytechnic where he was a favoured pupil of Achille Castiglioni. He went immediately to work as a designer for Molteni and Lema.
It was in 1986 with Nicoletta Canesi that Lissoni formed the original Studio Lissoni in Milan. They swiftly gathered a reputation for developing a wide range of projects in design and architecture. Read more.
Lissoni’s magical touch is more affordably associated with furniture. His iconic Audrey chair from Kartell was a challenge not of design but of the design process – which unconventionally utilised robotics.
