Although clearly talented Quitllet’s work was not achieving the recognition it deserved and he struggled till 2001. It was then that he learnt that Phillipe Starck holidayed on the beautiful Balearic island of Formentera. Clutching his portfolio, Quitllet turned up on the doorstep of Starck’s villa. The larger than life pair hit it off and they formed their legendary “cool laboration”.

Since 2007 their partnership has produced designs for Driade, Magis and Kartell and they are always signed Starck & Quitllet. Close.
