Daniel Wellington’s range of ladies watches benefit from the same great styling and simple, elegant functionalism as their masculine variants but with a slightly smaller casing.
The company sold their first watch in May 2011 and three years later have sales in excess of 700,000, making them the fastest growing company in the world.
It all began when a young Scandinavian entrepreneur, Filip Tysander, made the acquaintance of an impeccably dressed Englishman while travelling in Australia. The man sported an expensive Swiss chronograph which he had customised with a Nato strap - the name given to a material made of braided fabric developed for maritime use by the Royal Navy.
Inspired, Tysander set about creating a slimmed down, more affordable homage to this unique and individual watch. The result is a happy marriage of Scandinavian style with English eccentricity.
The Englishman’s name was, of course, Daniel Wellington. His simple, refined, functionally beautiful watches are a must with the sartorially aware 25 plus demographic and especially prized by adherents of the preppy style.
