NLXL Brooklyn Tins Wallpaper by Merci 05
NLXL Brooklyn Tins Wallpaper TIN-05
Brooklyn Tins TIN-05 Wallpaper from NLXL originated when the trendy MERCI store in Paris used vintage North American ceiling tins as a decorative feature. The wow factor created could not be ignored and NLXL got together with MERCI at a party during Paris Design Week in 2012 to arrange to produce this collection of eight different designer wallpapers.
Ceiling tins were mass produced in the States between 1890 and 1930 as a cheap alternative to the exquisite plasterwork found in Europe. They were painted white but soon succumbed to corrosion and rust – ironically this was why production ceased but it is also the source of their weathered, sublimely distressed look.
The pattern of this wallpaper does not repeat during the roll, meaning no matching is required and there is less expensive waste. Another advantage is minor irregularities in the wall merge naturally into the pattern.
Made of non-woven FSC-certified paper, the rolls are ten metres long and 48.7 cm wide with a total coverage of 4.9 square metres.
Found in stores, boutique hotels, television studios and discerning homes, this collection of wallpapers was released onto the market in 2012. Use it to transform any space, feature wall or part of a wall.
