The company began in 1999 and was set up by 2 London designers Steve Jones and Russell Cameron, their aim was to bring our designs from young British talent. After some successful early product launches they became inundated with lighting designs from European designers to commission and manufacture their products.

Manufacturing these designs in to a commercial product is a difficult job as the most simple of items can have its complications yet Innermost pushes the boundaries of what is possible. The quality is phenomenal good of each and every product, which is very much part of there success as well as the aesthetics of them. Each product has a sense of wit and uniqueness for example the popular Jeeves light which a top hat that is a ceiling light.

The range is popular both I the home and for contract and commercial use, there lighting is seen in the settings of many TV shows many of which Design 55 have supplied.
