Flos lighting later began making lights from an American material called Cocoon a transparent spray on material which can be still seen used in some of its current light such as the Zeppelin, Gatto., Taraxacum ceiling light. The company then expanded and moved to their factory to Brescia.
In 1974 they purchased the Italian modern lighting company Arteluce which was owned by industrial designer Gino Sarfatti, Flos lamps still incorporate some of there designs in todays catalogue.
Flos prides itself on spotting emerging talent and has collaborated with some of the best modern day designers including Philippe Starck, Jasper Morrison, Antonio Citterio, Marcel Wanders, Konstantin Grcic and Patricia Uriquiola to name but a few. There is one factor when releasing its products is that it is a timeless design they achieve these by creating designs using innovative materials and cutting edge production techniques and of course it has to improve the environment the light is put in.
