Formed in 1998 a combined Anglo – Swiss partnership of Dan Black and Martin Blum the company began as a design consultancy which then gave them insights in to niches within the gift market thus they designed and brought out there own range of products.

 

Dan was passionate about design from an early age and met Martin who had previously worked in product design and was also studying at The University of Northumbria studying on a Design for Industry course one of the best in the country where both of them gained an impressive first class honours degree. Thus Black + Blum were born and they’ve never looked back and are now established worldwide.

One of there first products was the ever popular James the doorman which is instantly recognizable and won tons of awards for it simple design. The great thing about Black + Blum products is that they are also very affordable for a design piece, Then after huge demand came the James the bookend version of the product.

Black + Blum have since gained many top awards for some excellent products including the fruit loop, loop candelabra there lunchbox range which includes the box appetite, bento box and lunch pot which are all best sellers.
