As its name suggests, the Anglepoise Giant 1227 is practically identical to the great George Carwardine’s original Anglepoise lamp from 1934 – only it’s three times bigger!
On its release in 2004 the film director Tim Burton bought one to make his classic animation, utilising the lithe manoeuvre-ability of this iconic lamp to literally bring it to life. It has a powder-coated aluminium shade, aluminium arms and joints, stainless steel fittings and a weighted base on castors for ease of movement. It is supplied with a dimmable 100W halogen reflector and benefits from Anglepoise’s constant tension spring technology.
Playful and individualistic, the Giant 1227 is also highly functional – with an enormous 2 metre reach, it’s ideal for the drawing office or story-boarding. Use it in the lounge or living room – or try it in the playroom: there’s not a child in the world who wouldn’t want to use it as a teleporter.
Available in Duck Egg Blue, Warm Beige or Pebble White.
Shade diameter: 50 cm.
Base diameter: 50 cm.

For the first time in their 80 year history this formidable British company will be presenting a celebration of their lighting products at Milan’s International Lighting Exhibition 9-14th April 2013. (Stand E10.)
Something else worth bearing in mind before you make your investment - an original 30s Anglepoise lamp recently sold at auction in L.A. for six times the current price of a new one.
