Alessi Tea Matters Bird Cage Tea Strainer
The Alessi Tea Matters, Caged Tea Strainer, was designed by Hong Kong’s Alan Chan. The product is produced in stainless steel and plastic, in the form of a bird within a birdcage.
This design was set to replicate the social, historic tradition within China, where pet birds were taken to tea in their unique, out of the ordinary birdcage. When the strainer is placed back in the case, after usage, a melody can be heard.
The base of the cage has been combined to ensure any remaining drips are caught. This contemporary, modern compliance is new to the design scene.
